Summary of Position


CCI has an immediate need for field project positions, supporting major construction projects.


Acting as an owner-representative, the ME Inspector assists the owner in fulfilling Onshore Pipeline Regulation oversight requirements by ensuring mobile equipment on the project sites meets the requirements of the Project Mobile Equipment Standard, validating ME operator competency, and recording inspection results through daily inspection reports. This position requires a positive attitude with a solution-based mind set. The current project atmosphere is team based and focused on working together.


Reporting to the Area Health & Safety Manager, this is a field-based role supporting a major pipeline expansion project in Western Canada.


The position requires the ME inspector to have a vehicle able to safely navigate both public highway and rough mountain roads/ pipeline rights-of-way.


The position requires to work in remote locations within Alberta and British Columbia. Work rotation will be dependant upon site specific plans. Work week is typically six days on, one off.


The project is expected to be completed 2022.




  • Provide guidance, counsel and support related to mobile equipment to the TMEP PMT and TMEP HS Management team.
  • Support incident investigations and review/comment of Contractors’ investigation reports related to mobile equipment operations as required by the Area Manager, Health and Safety.
  • Record daily inspection/monitoring activities with mobile equipment observations, findings, hazard identifications, conformance and non-conformance to TMEP standards via daily inspection reports, and input into project tools.
  • Review competency of Contractor’s mobile equipment personnel to ascertain they meet the requirements of the role descriptions using Project Focus Inspections.
  • Provide all duties within a dynamic environment, deployed to individual spreads and work faces as required.




  • Direct experience working as an equipment operator, foreman or HSE Lead
  • 10+ years experience working with heavy civil equipment and/or pipe lay equipment
  • Direct industry experience in Oil and gas, or heavy civil, or mining or forestry is preferred
  • Proficient user of computer-based reporting/ email/ photo
