CCI Group of Companies Names New Vice President of Environmental Services
It is with a bittersweet sentiment that we announce Ken Birkett’s retirement, effective May 31st. Ken’s departure signifies a pivotal moment for the CCI Group of Companies but we are excited to see Ken chase an exciting and adventurous retirement running up mountains and traveling to far off places.
When Ken Birkett joined us in 2013 as our VP Environmental Planning and Services he was instrumental in our company’s growth, moving into the role of Senior Vice President in 2022 and guiding us into what is now our 20th anniversary. With a warm smile, encouraging words, and sage guidance, he has helped steer CCI into new and bigger possibilities that we will continue to see the company grow far past his retirement.
We extend our heartfelt wishes to Ken Birkett as he embarks on a well-deserved vacation!
CCI Group of companies is proud to announce Jami Taschuk P.Eng. will now serve as our Senior Vice President with added responsibilities of BD, Director of EPiC, Environment and HSE, along with continuing leadership of the Canadian Engineering Division.
With tenure spanning over seven years at CCI, Jami emerges as a seasoned leader, boasting more than two decades of expertise in large-scale oil and gas pipeline projects. Jami’s professional journey encompasses a diverse range of roles across pipeline contractors, and engineering consulting firms. Throughout Jami’s career, pivotal highlights include significant contributions to onshore and offshore pipeline projects across Canada, the United States, and the Middle East. Jami’s unwavering commitment to excellence and extensive experience serve as a testament to his dedication and expertise in shaping the future of CCI Group of Companies in the global oil and gas sector.
Stefan Goerz, M.Sc., P.Eng., P.E., has recently been promoted to the role of Vice President, Geotechnical and Corporate Development at the CCI Group of Companies. In this position, Stefan leads the Geotechnical engineering teams across Canada and the USA, as well as oversees Progress Drilling USA, one of the newest additions to the CCI Group. His responsibilities also include overseeing Human Resources, Project Controls, and IT, ensuring the seamless operation of these departments and providing input on the strategic growth of the overall Group of Companies.
Stefan’s career with CCI Group of Companies has been marked by significant achievements and progressive responsibilities. With over 12 years of experience in trenchless pipeline construction, geotechnical investigation and design, and assessment for pipeline and trenchless design work, Stefan has become a pivotal figure within our company offering many technical papers and participation to the trenchless community as a whole.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 2013 and his Thesis-based Master’s Degree in 2019, both specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Alberta. Stefan is also registered as a Professional Engineer in the USA and has authored and co-authored numerous conference papers and presented at various conferences and universities around the USA and Canada.
Stefan is known for developing efficient business processes that emphasize customer satisfaction and company growth. He approaches challenges with innovative thinking, strategic planning and a long-term vision which are assets he will bring to his new role.
