Summary of Position:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and driven professional to join our growing team of professionals. Working within the Drafting Design group and in collaboration with the Engineers and Project Managers, you will provide drafting services for the projects and for various other clients using primarily CAD applications.
You will use AutoCAD and Solidworks and related software and data for creating design drawings. Your time will be split between the use of CAD tools and drafting checks of drawings.
Accountabilities:
- Produce, check, and revise mechanical models, structural models and engineered drawings for various pipeline & facility designs
- Review and implement multiple client drafting standards and specifications.
- Conduct checks of drawings and models at various stages of completion to ensure quality compliance.
- Assist in the development of company drafting standards and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Solidworks and/or similar related 3D CAD technologies.
- Drafting skills related to both machine design and structural models including creation of engineered drawings to support designs and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of applicable pipeline codes and material specifications.
- Strong analytical, communication and organization skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in the Canadian Oil & Gas sector.
- Able to work collaboratively within project teams to produce quality deliverables in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, problem solve and complete tasks in a timely manner and under tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Coordinate Systems and Projections
- Knowledge of geometric tolerancing, tolerance stack up, and industry-standard dimensioning practices.
- Experience managing large datasets and point-cloud based models.
