The Pipeline & Facilities Engineer (EIT) is responsible for assisting the project team with all project deliverables, related documents and coordination of project requirements. Assist with designs, conduct calculations, draft documents and complete cost estimates in accordance with industry and CCI Inc.’s codes and standards. This is a junior level position and the incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of Project Managers and Professional Engineers.

Location:

This position is based in St. Louis, Missouri.

  • This role is primarily office based but candidate must have the ability for intermittent travel to various job sites when needed.

Accountabilities:

  • Support Pipeline and Facility Engineering and Design.
  • Projects may include pipeline mechanical engineering design, integrity replacements, riser sites, valve replacements, pigging stations, metering sites, etc.., across LVP, HVP, and Gas services.
  • Assist with the completion of various project deliverables (engineering calculations, engineered drawings, specifications and datasheets, evaluation of technical feasibility, process design, pipeline systems optimization)
  • Develop and review plot plans, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), line designation tables (LDTs), 3D models, and mechanical drawings.
  • Develop and review design basis memorandums (DBM’s); mechanical engineering design; materials assessment and selection; equipment sizing specifications, and datasheets; equipment and material requests for quotes, evaluation and award; project cost management; quality control, technical coordination with various engineering disciplines, holding project review meetings and progress update meetings.
  • Liaison between engineering disciplines and managed third-party contractors.
  • Assist in development of cost estimates, project schedule, and scope of work packages. 
  • Quality control and checking.
  • Maintain and grow a working knowledge of the Federal Code of Regulations and applicable design codes and standards including ASME B31.3/4/8, API 5L, etc..
  • Occasional travel to site for, information gathering, as-building, pipeline route walkdowns, commissioning activities or troubleshooting tasks.
  • Maintain consistent involvement with Project Managers to ensure overall coverage of projects is in place

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering – Civil or Mechanical
  • Registration as an Engineer in Training
  • 1+ years’ relevant experience required
  • Experience with Trenchless Construction methods is an asset
  • Summer Student experience in a related field an asset
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D and Plant 3D), MicroStation, CADworx PipeFlo, and AutoPIPE software knowledge considered an asset
  • Basic knowledge of surveying and geotechnical sampling, testing, & reporting considered an asset
  • Safety training courses, background check and drug and alcohol testing required to work in the field. On the job training will be provided as needed.
